Hot Acoustics is a North American high energy guitar and electric violin duo whose performances have captivated audiences from Amsterdam to Aspen, West Berlin to Burning Man and Copenhagen to Key West.

    Featuring Gary Bertz on guitar and Alyce Cognetta Bertz on violin, Hot Acoustics serves up a diverse setlist full of unique renditions of familiar covers and original tunes. 

As an opening act they offer the simplicity of an uncomplicated stage change  — just two lines and two mics.  But don’t underestimate the full range of sound effects their two instruments and excellent vocals bring to the stage.  This duo projects a contagious energy that brings any event up to a new exciting level.

They have shared the stage with well known performers including Leon Russell, Richie Havens, Phoebe Snow, the Ramones, Hot Tuna, Todd Rundgren, Bonnie Raitt, Stephen Stills, Merle Saunders, Vassar Clements, NRPS, Renaissance.

Hot Acoustics has performed at Burning Man Project for seven years. A recent documentary on the life of Burning Man’s Founder, Larry Harvey includes some of their original music.
