Hot Acoustics has rewarded my attention for nearly half a century now and their longevity is no coincidence. It’s a testament to these two musician’s inspired chemistry, raw energy and idiosyncratic approach to their instruments. Their original catalogue has always been the primary draw for me, but there’s also no denying they possess boundless ability at creating cover interpretations distinctly their own. Few duos that ever were can claim the same, but then again, shattering listener’s expectations has been Gary and Alyce’s modus operandi all along.

When I first saw this duet, many years ago, I was immediately impressed by the unique sound of the electric violin mixing with the guitar rhythms and soothing vocals. After many years, their musical talent and interpretation has brought a different twist to so many of the familiar songs I grew up with that I now often hear their versions in my head.
